Three years ago I had to get to the 32nd floor to answer an alarm. The alarm was caused by the building shutting down the power which included the elevators.

Yeh I sorta had the same plan, do some cardio training and and quit smoking, but so far I've only managed to cut back on smoking and plan to start walking

I have - and it sounds like it was virtually the exact same scenario you found yourself in. It happened years ago when I worked in Healthcare Security.
